Biodiversity Net Gain & Nutrient Neutrality

Opus Works are dedicated to enabling much-needed housing to come forward, but we recognise that the sensitive protection of the environment has to sit at the forefront of planning & development.

We have used our expertise as planners and surveyors, working with experienced ecologists, to identify and secure significant land across the Midlands, North East and South East for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). Some of this land also has potential for nitrate and phosphate offset for further nutrient neutrality mitigation.

We offer an end to end solution, working with clients to identify options for required mitigation, which we then align, as appropriate, with LPA and Natural England planning and legislative requirements, taking into consideration existing land use and geohydrology to propose a viable solution that either minimises or fully mitigates on-site loss of net developable land.

Many landbanks and housing allocations were secured prior to BNG forming part of considerations. This land cannot provide envisaged development quantum without mitigation being identified and secured. We can help in this regard.
